Some said it is relaxing, some said it is GOD DAMN BORING. To me i find it relaxing, maybe ppl who said Perth is boring mainly becuz it lack of shopping variety, it lack of MAMAK, it lack of malaysian style gerai makanan, it lack of HUGE shopping mall like KL does, it lack of multiculture entertainment.
But what if you can live without these things and discover some new that we don't get in KL or Malaysia.
Alot working people in KL finds Perth a pretty relaxing place, it is like a place to let out all your stress and after a week break in Perth, it seems like it give you a clear mind on how to solve your complicated and stressful matters. I have this experience though. That was my first trip to Perth when i was still a young 14 years old teenager.
When i am still form 1 n 2, i am very enthuasiatic towards the drama society, i put my hard work more into the drama society than my own studies. Friends of mine even claimed that i am abit sombong becuz i am always busy just like an adult, i mix with lotsa seniors, get involved with alot of things. I don't even get to go home early everyday, i need to stay back in school to do all the preparation for every play. I got promoted at the end of the year of form 2, i got myself a position in the committee. Then i went for a trip to Perth in November when we are all having school holiday.
That should be my first ever trip to a country this far, to a western country. I have to admit i was quite pro-west then, since young i always wanted to go out frm the country and study in the UK. Haha ... financial doesn't allow me to do that so now i chose Aus.
It was a really pleasant trip then, it was full of excitement, exposure, fun n all good things, also becuz we were on our own trip with a very very good HK-ian young tour guide.
After i came back from that Perth trip, i started to realise how unsystematic Malaysia are, how stressful it is to live in Malaysia, especially KL. I have learnt relaxing, laid back and enjoy life after i came back from the trip.
It was still school holiday but i have to dedicate my time to drama society magazine, i was one of the committee of the magazine too .... i started to realise why i have to spend my valuable time from morning til late evening to do this thing, after all the team is not that productive at all. I felt it wasted my time and this is a school holiday i am supposed to be resting. Some may find that my thinking is abit extreme, it is known that we have to sacrifice our time in order for good returns.
Ever since that, my passion towards drama has slowly fade away, i started to realise that i should give spend some time with my classmates. After a year, i drop out from drama society the reason becuz i am not that passionate about it anymore and i need some time for myself.
Recently, i read my form 3 diary and i found out that i am really really very rebellious that time, from my outlook, you tot i am a good student, but i argue with my class teacher in the diary (one of our school rules included that a student must write an entry in their diary and the diary has to be read by the class teacher, it treat it as a way of communication with those rebellious teenager).
When i read back the words that i wrote in the diary, i couldn't believe that i did that before, i can remember that i'd challege the new class teacher (becuz he is quite short, small in size, fair skin, makes u feel like bully him that kind) but i couldn't remember that i used such insulting words before.
If you don't mind i am going to ask whether there are anyone in your life tell you that you are too skinny? or anyone ever ask you that why u are lacking of nutrition? You are just like a nerd who doesn't know anything about sports and curriculum. What!! I don't believe you have never been to a swimming pool before, where else you have never been to? I bet you have never been to a pub, snooker centre, cinema .... !!! Your life must be imbalance, you only know focus on your studies and forgot others activities. You must be god damn weak, judging from your outlook i bet you are. Wah when we first know you as our class teacher, we tot you are a female teacher cuz your name sounds like it, but once we get to see you from assembly, we totally got a shocked of our life, cuz we don't think you are capable to be our class teacher, the new teacher standing next to you is totally masculine and you are such a small n weak person. Why are you always standing in front of the class during class teacher period and say nothing just like you're a "soh lou"?etc.
Terror rite! I couldn't believe myself after years of writing that, i think that was really my rebellious period, then again that time makes me think alot of stuff, i think everyone shud have gone tru that period of time when you are still a teenager. That was the time when my friend think that i have changed, i totally forgot that they told me this before, until i read the biography that we used to have when we are about to say goodbye. One of my close friend said i used to be god damn sombong becuz of drama society n now that i have change and she get to know me more. Another not so close kinda friend said that she used to hate me becuz i look damn "hak yan zhang" also i am abit sombong la, she thinks that i am quite hard to get along with, but ever since form 3 that year, she get to knows me more and she said she dunno why she has changed her impression towards me. Which is a good thing!
I think that Perth trip really changed me! Now i have learnt that we can't just work for our living, we have to enjoy as much as we can when we are still alive. We never know when is our last day.
Becuz of the way of life the Aussie have, they make me think of the life in KL is pretty much stressful.
Stress is the thing that we take up by ourselve, stress doesn't come to you only if you know how to kick them away. Staying in Perth makes your thinking easier, any complication that you had in your mind won't come out with a conclusion. It is like you are awake, it makes you feel like you are a reborn child.
Yes, i love the nature Perth has, the river, the lake, the sea, the beach, the park, the trees, the blue sky, the sunlight, the unpolluted air, the civilised citizen, the friendly people of Perth, the wildlife, the rocks, the sunsets, the public facilities, the secure feeling, the safety, the healthy lifestyle, the adventurous games, the bands, the gigs, the festival, the freedom of speech, the spectacular sceneries and etc .... n now who said it is boring? If you are one of those, you might be one of the people who forgot the appreciation to the natures.
Everywhere in Perth gives me surprises, everywhere has a good view, i could tk good picture anywhere.
I know i din mention about the food n the shopping, yup Perth lack of these 2, but they do have pretty wide selection in food, just that they are not as good as the food in Malaysia (which is quite unhealthy). The shopping variety sucks badly n yea ... but forget about this n enjoy the simple life in Perth.
So who is gonna say it is boring??? Go to the beach whenever you want when you feel stressful and boring, go to Kings Park whenever you want to tk a look at the CBD, yes you can take away your stress over there too. Go to Mill Point if you want to have a front view of the CBD and also the water reflection on the CBD. The wind and the cooling air breeze take your spirit away that makes you shout YEA! If you are hungry in the middle of the nite, there is always Uncle Billy in Northbridge or maybe Conca's for the infamous Chilli Mussels and Italian food. This is a place where you have to discover the fun of it. If you have the money, try travelling around Western Australia, it would take your breathe away!!
After staying in Perth for almost 11months, i am more clam, less stress in my mind and more systematic too!! Hehehe ... It is so stressful to drive in Malaysia, you can never give your eyes a rest or tk a quick look at the roadside view.
I know this entry i have been praising quite alot, but what i said is true, but dun argue with me that i forgot about my own country. I never forget about Malaysia, it is still my country and i am still a Malaysian citizen, but since that i have got the priviledges to go n expose myself to something better, who would want to go back to a country that is full of corruption, unsystematic, police sleep more than work, government officer eat more that work, people in the country never obey to the rules especially traffic rules, most important Malaysia is no longer safe, everywhere we go we have a give 200% awareness towards "those" people. Who would want to be snacthed? Who would want to be raped? Who would want to be molested?? Sumore, the living expenses in KL is getting higher, citizen are going to suffer more, thus social problem gonna be more. It is no longer a place for peace living except we have no HUGE natural disaster.
Haih .... sorry if this post is too long and if you are very patriotic to Malaysia, reading this might be giving you a heart attack. But what i said is what i observed, realised, compared. I really hope in the next 10 years, Malaysia can be a better place to live, if it get worse than the situation now .... hmm maybe one day Bush would take over this country!! Who knows what he wants to do with the rest of the world!!
Hmm too much to talk today, i shall really should pack my overloaded stuff ... but this is gonna be a headache to me. But well tomorrow nite i shall have full fun!!
