It has been more than 5 months that i have been in the Aussie land, almost 6 months so to say.
Though my English haven't truly aussiefied, but hey that stupid 8 po chippie said my "alrite" is irritating, wat is tis ...!!!
ok that's alrite...
I have start to reliase that there are something i am scared that i can't adapt back to the malaysia culture.
1. the BIG FAT CHIPS
When we all first came here, we find it hard to accept the big fat chips, cuz it is fat, it is big and it is fattening. It just make us full easily. But days by days ... we start to like the big fat chips, becuz it is big, and it is fat. The most delicious chips, it has to be served fresh and hot ... that is order and fried for you. We start to scared when we go back to msia, how are we going to eat back those skinny, small, no feel fries...
2. we Cross the Street as if we owned the Street
Yea, Australian drivers, they are in good courtesy. The treat the pedestrians as the most important creature on the road, though there are also a lot pedestrians killed by drivers (those drunk driving la) So, we have no worries to cross the road... and so we wonder how to cross the road back in msia, cuz we have heavy traffic road, and ruthless drivers.
3. the SPEED of EATING - Slow
Yea... we start to eat slowly, not that we purposely eat slowly, it is becuz we have no rush, why should we eat in a hurry, after all tat is not good to our stomach digestive system. Well, anything here are slow, just becuz the Aussie know how to enjoy life, bt i prefer them rather the "bumiputra" in my country. They are just like a P*g. (wahaha i am so bad)
4. Short drive means 20 minutes
I find the distance to Freo is very short, but to be honest it takes 15-20 minutes, but we call it near n short. you know why, becuz we just need to drive all the way straight to freo, south street are damn bloody long and straight. Yea everywhere we travel needs about 15-20 minutes, but we called it near. The road here are too straight forward, and BRAVO.. no traffic jam eh.!
5. AUD8 for an asian dish is normal
Yup, hv lotsa asian here and asian dishes still around that price, they hvn't normalised... but well, food here are selling around that price no matter their own australian food or authentic food. nothing is cheap in terms of food!!
6. SElf-Confidence Boost UP
Hey yeah.... i always feel i am so damn small here, though they have lotsa tall n slim girl, long n perfect leg, but i dunno why, i just felt that i don't hate my body... and i love it, cuz i think i am smaller... haha. But after go back to msia, i still the big one.!!
7. Ermm... i can't think of anything now. (soon to discover)
.

.
.
In conclusion, these are the signs that i discover i am slowly adapting the aussie life.
Instead what i am still a truly malaysian is that
1. Sleep late, wake up late
This is what i can't learn from them, aussie tend to sleep early and wake up god damn bloody early (about when i am going to sleep)
2. Craving for Asian food
it has been so more than 5 months, but i am still craving for asian food, esp the most spicy the more i am craving for. I used to scared of spicy food when i am young, but when i grew older i tend to accept and start to like it. Now that i am here, no matter when we order spicy food we need to request for extra spicy.
3. Fast Action
No matter how slow we followed, but we still living like the KL ppl, we used to the fast paces city life, but hey tis is the time to start to let ourself relax. I know when i go back to KL, i will dislike it, cuz it is too busy and has no life.
Ahh... damn sleepy now
good nite!
